Reason
Maldives Customs Service (MCS) conducted a pilot Time Release Study (TRS) in 2021 and the result of it is yet to be published.
During the pilot study, it was identified that, MCS has challenges in data assimilation and merging, which is sourced from multiple border agencies. Therefore, MCS needs time to standardize the Cargo Manifest Process in order to conduct TRS periodically and in a consistent manner.
MCS needs donor assistance and guidance of an expert to conduct advice on how to overcome the issues identified in the pilot study and conduct a comprehensive TRS with the MCS team, so that a system would be established to conduct such periodic Time Release Studies.
Maldives Customs Services (MCS) requests for an extension up to 31 December 2025 to implement this Article.
