This Article can be implemented with donor assistance and support for the development of our capacity.
Maldives requests an extension to implement this Article up to 31 December 2028, as it is highly unlikely that we can comply to the previously notified definitive date of implementation date of 30 June 2026.

Reason
Enhanced controls and inspection notifications/measures will be implemented via Phase 2 of the National Single Window (NSW) Project.
Prior to implementing the enhanced controls and inspection, it is essential to complete the Single Window configurations and make the necessary modifications to Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) Dhirithi System.
While NSW Phase 1 related work has been initiated in August 2024, meeting 31 Dec 2024 will be a challenge.
Maldives requests an extension to implement this Article to 31 December 2027.

Asistencia y apoyo para poner en marcha un sistema de alerta de las notificaciones electrónicas en el marco del Organismo de Protección de la Salud, la Dirección de Productos Alimenticios y Farmacéuticos de Maldivas y el Ministerio de Pesca, Agricultura y Recursos Marinos, y para reforzar las capacidades para la notificación de controles o inspecciones reforzados. Asistencia para revisar el marco jurídico y mecanismos para el análisis y la mejora del marco jurídico y los procedimientos. |
