Egypt has not received targeted technical assistance or capacity building in the implementation of this Article 10.3. The use of international standards is the basis for the various trade facilitation measures including the simplification of relevant formalities and procedures.

TACB support needs include:

Despite the fact that the relevant agencies and authorities exert their best effort to use international standards, TACB is needed in the following areas:

• Training of staff and creating awareness and understating of existing relevant international standards.
• Enhance participation of the relevant authorities in the development of international standards in the different international organizations.
• Assessing the conformity of existing relevant national formalities and procedures with national standards.
